The initial design of this course originated from personal experience as an English teacher. Teaching citations is often viewed as dry and boring, which made the driving question, "how can I make this more engaging?" The answer was to make it more human and relatable. I began researching ways to incorporate AI as a tool for facilitaion, and decided to go with Synthesia.  

Once I was settled on how to maximize engagement, I began drafting a simple course outline, writing the learning objectives, and designing the assessments to measure outcomes. After that, I wrote the scripts for the voiceovers. I use a checklist to make sure that all required elements are included in my design and that they make sense. 

Once all the assets were assembled, I used Synthesia to produce high quality AI instructional videos. I chose synthesia because their AI voices sound the most human-like, which was extremely necessary to reach my goal of human connection and engagement.
